Here is what the abbreviations from Germans to America mean... PR=Prussia AAKH=Berlin You might also want to obtain a copy of the passenger list. Baltimore passenger lists are available on microfilm, which can be ordered from any local Family History Center for viewing and photocopying for a small fee. You can find the microfilm roll numbers you will need here... Baltimore Passenger Lists 1820-1891 http://home.att.net/~wee-monster/baltlists1820.html You can find a directory of Family History Centers here... http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp Good luck with your search. The birth year matches and the first name is a good match. The only thing that doesn't match is the year of immigration. Your note says 1873 but my dates are 1892 and 1899, in 1853 Nanko was only 5 years old and his parents stayed in the Netherlands. As always, new info raises new questions. In this case, who was Grace and what was het Dutch name. I'll go back to ellis island to see if I can find a match and go through my notes for his village in NL. Thanks again, Peter
