    2. Jeff, I found this some years ago, and I believe this is how my Muir family may have recruited to Eckhart. I don't remember the Percy family being involved in coal mining in Lonaconing, although the Sloan family was involved in coal and banking. (quite a lot of hard feelings in Coney when the bank failed during the depression) Consolidated Coal Co. was the big name in coal mining in Coney at one time. I have no info Re: the Vale Summit Cemetery, do you know if any Muirs are buried there? Feldsteins "Coal Mining and Railroads of Allegany, MD." Page 5 has a reference to the Percy family and how they recruited friends from Scotland to come over and work in their coal mines. (James Percy (b 7 May 1800 d 22 Feb 1865) came to the US in 1829 from Muirkirk, Ayrshire, Scotland. His brothers joined him later, Douglas in 1831 and David in 1835.) John Keyes
