I need some help from a local in Cumberland who might belong to SS Peter and Paul Ch or to St. Patrick's. I found my one relative at St. Patrick's Cem. in Sec C Lot 153 Grave either 3 or 4. His name was John W. Gordon and he died in 1919-October 12. I don't recognize any of the persons buried in this plot - the surnames include Rohr, Cole and Moore. A Mr. Wolford was the undertaker listed on both death certificates and in a round about and wonderful way I located these burial records at Upchurch FH in Cumberland. Now, they tell me that their records say that both John and wife Emily Susan Gordon (nee Gill) had funerals at SS Peter and Paul but were buried at St. Patrick's. Emily Susan Gordon died 12/26/1928. I called St Patrick's back and asked about section 15 that was listed on the FH records. They don't have a section 15 - their sections are A-D. Does SS Peter and Paul use numbers instead of letters? They can find no record of Emily Susan Gordon resting in either cemetery. Perhaps if they do not - Emily is in an A-D section at St. Patrick's in a Lot #15. I'm assuming of course that the actual grave location numbering doesn't exceed 6 or 8 spots. I would walk the cemetery if I could! Let me know of perhaps others experiences and just how these cemeteries are laid out. Thanks, Karen Nelson Hangsleben
