They are connected to the Sloan family mentioned in Allegany history. They are buried in Percy Cemetery in Frostburg, Porter Cemetery in Eckhart and Vale Summit Methodist Cemetery JEFF - do you have info regarding this that you could send to me? My Hamilton - Allerdice - Kirkwood families came to the Lonaconing area between 1869 and 1871 - the Muir family was tied into one of these lines - and this may be a lead as to how/why the families came to Lonaconing to work in the mines.
