Could someone tell me what the word "fuerriour" means? I believe it was an occupation. The spelling might be off, but the best guess. The listing was for the July 24, 1901 marriage between Glenn, Joseph Franklin, age 27/white, Cumberland, MD, bachelor/Fuerriour to Gordan, Birdie, age 19/white, Cumberland, MD, maid. The marriage was performed by JH Kuhlmain, Pastor Trinity M.E. Church. I tried a French to English dictionary thinking it was French. There was nothing that would pop up. In 1909 Jos. F. Glenn was a grocer in the city directory. Karen Nelson Hangsleben (TX)

Farrier? It's way off from the spelling. Check him in the census. Barbara At 07:14 PM 4/8/07, you wrote: >Could someone tell me what the word "fuerriour" means? I believe it was an >occupation. Karen, My best guess would be that they meant farrier ( A blacksmith that shoes horses;also, a person who treats the disease of horses; a veterinarian ) The art or the establishment of a farrier............Pauline ----- Original Message ----- From: "Karen Hangsleben" <phangsleben@ghg.net> To: <mdallega@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 08, 2007 10:14 PM Subject: [MDALLEGA] Definition on marriage record 1901 > Could someone tell me what the word "fuerriour" means?
