    2. Mary Ellen, My Francis Cosgrove was naturalized in Blair Co. PA but there is a document in Cumberland to prove that. We still have no idea why he went that far north to be naturalized in 1857.     3. In our search at the Cumberland courthouse, we found about 4 COSGROVE. One was Patrick COSGROVE in the 1850s. That surname cought our eye because one of my husband's MCALLISTER ancestors married a COSGROVE in the late 1800s. We know the timeline so we checked EVERY book with pre & post the timeline without success. He was a judge & magistrate so must have had to be a citizen.
