I am so sorry to be sending the obituary for one of my very "bestest" friends forever..... whom I met in Grade 6 and have loved like a brother all of that time. It is for Bill Steppe who died on March 8, 2007 from cardiac arrest. As you all know Bill has been marvelous through all of his diabetes problems and with the loss of his leg. Although he had heart problems, the death was sudden. I have been on the phone for a long while with Janet today. She is doing as well as anyone can during these circumstances. As we all know they had a long and beautiful marriage and family. The Fort Hill Class of 1954 will make a donation to Fort Hill in Bill's memory. After my talk with Janet, I would urge anyone who wants to make a personal donation to please make it to Fort Hill (with a notation of Library or Football or Track or National Honor Society or Stadium Committee) or to Janet and Bill's church, The First United Methodist Church, New Hartford, NY 13456 I personally will make a donation to the Stadium Committee.
