Carolyn, Piney Grove School was in existence in 1900 in Garrett County, but close to Allegany County. Known mostly as Piney Run School, it was in operation until 1943. During its life span it had more than one location in the area but the most likely location when it closed was east of Westernport Road on the south side of Swamp Road. For two years (1934-36), in an effort to promote consolidation, Piney Run students were bussed to Lonaconing in Allegany County. I would welcome more information if it is available.
