    1. [MDALLEGA] Marriage records in Circuit Clerk's office

    3. I just received what will be the first of many requests for marriage certifs.. I will be making to the circuit clerk's office. I don't have a problem with the need to purchase certified copies tho this isn't really necessary and I sure don't have a problem with paying $5.50 ea. or the fact that they will search such a large timeperiod. What I would like however is to have what surely must also be in the book (register) - the name of the parents! Is there a way to tastefully ask for this? I just suspect that in 1897 the parents were listed on the actual record! Would someone please comment on this - Karen Nelson Hangsleben

    3. Karen, To be best of my knowledge Maryland has ever required the name of parents on Marriage records (application for a license). I have marriage records (certified copies as far back as mid 1800's and parents are not named). Pat-T I just received what will be the first of many requests for marriage certifs..
