I'm working on my STEPPE connection to Cumberland. I downloaded WWI and WWII draft registration cards and need to ask a question. Has Maryland Street always been Maryland Street? How far away is Glenwood Street (900 block) to Maryland Street (900 block)? Two STEPPE brothers listed a Millard TWIGG as the person who would know their whereabouts (1942). Karen, There is a Maryland Avenue. Glenwood St. is a block away from the 900 block of Maryland Ave. It runs parallel with MD. Ave. in that 900 block. Glenwood St. is just one block long now. It may have been a longer street at one time. I have always known it as Maryland Ave. not Street. Also, there was a William Steppe that went to Fort Hill H.S. in the 1950's.
