I am adding this as a footnote to the discussion. Current marriage registers in the Episcopal church include the names of the bride and groom's parents in the parish records. I do not know if this is a universal church practice, but I would guess that it might be fairly common. So, if you know what church a marriage occurred in (if it wasn't a secular civil ceremony) that might have the parental information you seek. I sent back to the Catholic church in Lonaconing to check a death record and they did not have that but they did have my ggparent's marriage record and it had the names of both sets of parents INCLUDING the maiden names for the women! It taugt me to always check the church records even if you do have a civil record of marriage, birth or death. You never know what gems may pop up. ~~C Sullivan Jim Woods <kayakrguy@yahoo.com> wrote: I am adding this as a footnote to the discussion.
