I received the same amt. of copies as you did, Dick. You, Dick, I think, explained it to me as folks do not delete all the extraneous messages before forwarding. With a present reading problem I am having trouble separating them all...and typing correctly.<G> In the 'old days" I rec' the digest in a style where you could simply click on the message you wanted to read...and skip the others. Guess there is nothing I can do but go to List form. Would that help? I'd get many more mailings but they would be singles?? Thanks for the aide. ginny **************************** Also for your info, I have received 6 copies of your same message requesting this info. Hope this helps. "The Ole Crow" Dick Crow
Did anyone know my Sam, Elizabeth, Sam, Jr., Edna and Ruth McFarlanes from Lonaconing? Will you share something with us about your relationship with them? Or maybe something you remember someone sharing about them? Do you have stories or pictures? I have recently and happily reunited with cousins Carolyn McFarlane, Samuel's oldest daughter living in Paris France and Edna's youngest daughter Linda living in Roanoke, VA. We are most interested in our grandparents 'Coney activities and their life there. Can anyone shed any light on this? Family folklore has it that Sam and Elizabeth McFarlane met at a candy store in 'Coney. Where was "the candy store" in 1915? Is the James Love in the wedding announcement (below) the Jimmy Love of Love's Grocery in Lonaconing? James Love and Sam McFarlane must have been buddies? I wonder if there are photos and stories of Jim and Sam? Sam and Elizabeth's wedding announcement from 1915: From The Cumberland Times on July 1, 1915; " Miss Elizabeth Stevenson, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Stevenson, Knapps Meadow, and Samuel Barber McFarlane, were married in the First Presbyterian Church this evening at 5 o'clock by the Rev. H.L. Earnest, pastor of the church. The attendants were the bride's sister, Miss Jennie Stevenson, and Mr. James T. Love. The bride graduated from Central High School, this place [Lonaconing], in the class of 1914, and is well known in Lonaconing. The groom is employed by the Consolidation Coal Company. They will make their home in Knapp's Meadow." Thanks ~ Chere
