    3. I had thought that he was born in Maryland (Fred or Wash Cos.) but death record says VA. His father was a Jerome Gordon and mother Catherine Long/Lang. He married Emily Susan Gill Gordon in about 1862 in Shenandoah Co., VA. I have seen records where early children might well have been born in PA. I do know that the GILL family went to PA to find work from Shenandoah Co., VA. So, maybe John lived for a time in Bedford Co. I just don't know. So, maybe John lived for a time in Bedford Co. My Gordons were in Bedford County prior 1798. I know for sure that one of them moved to Allegany County - Weston Twigg married Easter Gordon ca. 1830's.
