I was told that Gerstell was known as the "County Poor Farm" due to all of the farmers there. Has anyone heard of this or does anyone know if there are any records of occupants in the area known as "County Poor Farm". Also someone from the list sent an e-mail on the Ackerman location. I had checked this on the internet and had determined it was in Mineral County in the earlier years but can some one tell me if Ackerman is near Gerstell? Has Ackerman just disappeared or is it now another town?
