Thanks Theresa, I'd very much like to track down Jean McFarlane b.1849 in Kilwinning, Scotland, sister of my ggrandfather James G. McFarlane b. 1850. We find her in the Andrew McFarlane household in 1851 with siblings Mary, Andrew and James. In the 1861 census, Jean, age 12, appears as a servant in the (motherless) Thomas Banks household. In 1861, brothers Andrew, 24 and James, 21 (my ggrandfather) remained at home with 60 yr old father Andrew and 58 yr. old mother, Margaret, My ggrandfather James immigrated to U.S. (Lonaconing) to mine coal in 1869. Would like to follow Jean after her servitude to the Bankses as well as Andrew who remained in Scotland. Thanks very much ~ Chere Theresa Swanson <goddess@themapguidecompany.com> wrote: Ancestry.com has the Scottish census - whom are you looking for?
