    3. Terri, I'll send this on to the list and see what their answer is. I don't know about the 1840 census. I have the census from 1850 to 1920 on cd's but prior to 1850 there isn't much to learn from the census. I did check all of the census records but did the early ones at Allegany College here in Cumberland. Connie Connie, Do you know if the 1840 Allegany County census available on the internet? The Rootsweb page goes back to 1850. I haven't been able to find it with Google. Keep warm!!!! Terri

    3. Ancestry.com has Allegany County census on-line back to 1800... but, as was stated, there's not much info there.
