Carol, I have only a vague reference to Thomas Walkinshaw. I have him as married to Jennet Muir (no relation to my Muir's that I can find) They had a child, Agnes, b. abt 1850 in Scotland. (my notes say she was a teacher) Agnes married John Willison b abt 1850 Ayrshire, Scotland. They married March 1874 in Eckhart. Children Nettie Martha May Desmond born 10 Jan 1886 d. 28 Sept 1959 May married John Muir son of Michael Muir, born in Riccarton, Ayrshire, Scotland. and Jennette Telford, b. Allegany Co., MD. This John ties into my Muir family. The Walkinshaw and Willison Families are being researched by Connie Beachy who is our list administrator. Perhaps Connie can add more to this. I had a different marriage date for John and Agnes, Sept 28, 1875. So we are distantly related:) Carol Mrs. John Muir ECKHART - Mrs. Mae D. Muir, 73, of here died yesterday in miners hospital where she had been a patient since September 22. She had been in ill health for some time. A Lifelong resident of Eckhart, she was daughter of the late John and Agnes (Walkenshaw) Willison. Her husband John Muir preceded her in death. Mrs. Muir was a member of the Eckhart Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons, John and Melvin Muir, both of here, and James Muir, Frostburg; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Weibrecht, Frostburg; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Nettie Porter, Eckhart. The body is at Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, where the family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Brooks Henry officiating. Internment will be in Eckhart Cemetery. Pallbearers are Roy LaRue, Edison Duckworth, Richard Watson, Ronald Ellis, Earl Kreitzburg and Robert Hansel. Cumberland Evening Times - Monday, March 23, 1953 Thomas W. Willison FROSTBURG - Thomas W. Willison, 70, a lifelong resident of Eckhart, died yesterday at Miners Hospital where he had been a patient two days. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Henry Parsons, Baltimore; Mrs. Ted Carr and Miss Mildred Willison, both of Washington; Mrs. James Winebrenner, Mrs. Ralph Schurg and Mrs. Ross Porter, all of Eckhart; two sons, William Willison, also of Baltimore and Thomas Willison, Eckhart; two sisters, Mrs. John Muir and Mrs. Fred Porter, both of Eckhart; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body is at the home in Eckhart, funeral arrangements are incomplete. Cumberland Evening Times - Monday, November 4, 1963 MRS. FREDERICK PORTER ECKHART - Mrs Jenetta M. Porter, 83, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Myers. She had been in failing health for the past 18 months. A native of Eckhart, she was a daughter of the late John and Agnes (Walkenshaw) Willison and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her husband, Frederick Porter preceded her in death. Besides Mrs. Myers, she is survived by a son, Clarence Porter, Red hill; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Eckhart Baptist Church. The body is at Durst Funeral Home where services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. by Rev. George W. Hattenfield. Internment will be in Eckhart Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Watson, Ronald Hansel, Robert Hansel, Earl Kreitzburg, Harold Dudley, and Edison Duckworth.
