HI Jocelyn... Any of your people come from Jefferson or Harrison Co., OH? I know that there's a Short Creek Twp. that's currently in Harrison Co., east of New Athens. Before Harrison was formed, though (in 1814), that part of the county would have been part of Jefferson, to the east. The only other Short Creek that comes to mind is part of Ohio Co., WVA, then part of VA. I've never seen it rendered as a township, but.... Anyway, THAT Short Creek is near West Liberty, which is north of Wheeling. I'm voting for the one in Harrison Co. Hope that helps.
