    3. This Mary M. Steppe must be the daughter of Harman(Herman) and Ida Gordon Steppe. I had wondered what became of her. I can' thank you enough for giving me another lead as to other sources of information. Just when I thought things had pretty well dried up for me - you find this gem. You don't need to guess what I'll be looking for tomorrow! STEPPE Found this obituary that was in a 12/15/1987 obit from Cumberland Times: EUGENE THOMAS BERGMAN, 72, of RD, Martinsburg, W.Va., died Saturday in Martinsburg City Hospital. Born in Cumberland, he was a son of the late James F. and MARY M. (STEPPE) BERGMAN. He worked at Fairchild-Hiller for 35 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 694, the Funkstown American Legion, Post 21, and Improved Order of Redmen. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church. He is survived by his widow, Mary E. (Schetromtf) Bergman; two step-daughters, Mrs. Edna P. Taylor, Houstontown, PA; and Mrs. Stacey L. Knox, Hagerstown; four step sons, Howard C. Knox, Warfordsburg, PA; Norman L. Knox, Thurmont, MD; Dennis W. Knox,, Marlowe, W. Va; and Timothy E. Knox, Thurmont, Md; two sisters, Mrs. Clare Golges, Canton, Ohio, and Mrs. Gertrude Lease, Cumberland. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 am in the Minnick Funeral Home, 415 East _____ Boulevard. Interment to be in Rest Haven Cemetery. I checked all of the books of obits we have at the Genealogical Society for Mary M. Steppe. This is as close as I got.
