I posted this awhile ago - have not had any responses so thought I would do so again for those people that may be new to the Allegany County and Mineral County list. Pat I am searching for somebody that may be able to direct me in the right direction for locating the keeper of the records for the Ft. Ashby Methodist Church. Name, address, phone number, e-mail whatever. A lady I was dealing with regarding St. Pauls Methodist Church in Patterson's Creek told me that before St. Pauls was built everyone attended Fort Ashby Methodist Church and used it for funerals, baptisms, etc. After looking at many of the church records for St. Paul's Methodist Church in Patterson Creek I do notice that all of my ancestors funerals were held at Fort Asbhy Methodist Church and one said Fort Ashby Trinity Methodist Church. May be one of the same? My question, do you know who I would contact to get information on the early church records - funerals, weddings, baptisms, etc.? Or, can someone provide me the name of the current ministers for Ft. Ashby and Patterson Creek Methodist Churches? Plus any contact information. Thanks for your help.
