Does anybody on the Allegany Co, MD mailing list also belong to the West Virginia mailing List? I was wondering if it was as active and as helpful as this one? I believe that my Knott family relatives were from Piedmont, Keyser, and Elk Garden areas, so I thought I might join the West Va mailing list. Louann Kiddy Creasy

Louann- I belong to several WV Lists and "NO", none of the lists I belong to are as active and helpful as the Allegany Co. List. Having said that, there is a "LOT" of information on the Mineral Co. List regarding Elk Garden. The surname Knott(s) is mentioned in some of the records. There are a good number of people on this list that will do lookups, also. Mineral Co. Thank you, I think I may try it because I have come to one of those brick walls as far as these relatives are concerned. I have been to that website before and debated whether to join or not. But, I was just getting started at genealogy, and thought that one list is enough to keep track of. I am also looking for the Knott family . But my Knott came from Fresno Califorinia. she married in to the Gelston Family But I also have a family call Knotts that live in Eckhart MD. could this be part of your tree.?
