Refreshments served French and Indian War Speaker: Allan Powell, noted author and lecturer,who lives in Hagerstown, Maryland, will be speaking on the French and Indian War time period. He will be telling us tales of the people and places that while not often remembered or known impacted the very creation of our country. Western Maryland played a vital role in the conflict and the city of Frederick was more than a stop along the way west. Mr. Powell’s books, which other history authors cite quickly, are now available for sale at the Frederick County Historical Society and will be available at the meeting. His books currently sell for a premium on Amazon for their collectability .
