To any list members out there in Bedford County, PA or Allegany County, MD who have BENNETT ancestors somewhere in their family tree jigsaw puzzle: As you may know, (or may not if you're a fairly new member to the lists) know, I have been engaged in the rewrite/update/overhaul of "The Bennett Family Records of Bedford County, Pennsylvania" which was originally put out by Donald Bennett in 1971. This BENNETT line was centered primarily, in the beginning, in Southampton Township of Bedford County, then filtered north up into the county, and south across the Mason-Dixon, and west into Cumberland, etc. (Then scattered more as westward expansion and modern transportation evolved.) I started the work with gusto, then about three years ago, real-life reared it's ugly head, and the genealogy work pretty much came to a screeching halt. (How *DARE* life get in the way of my hobby!!) :-) I've now been able to restart my work, and ask that if you are related to this line and wish to make sure that your group's info is up-to-date (or as much as we're able to), please contact me off-list. I do have to ask for anybody who knows: I'm at a loss right now as to the best method or software package that I could use to publish the various info, so that it comes out in a readily-trackable format. As written/compiled, there was no index, and the family lines jumped all over the place like a rabbit on drugs, so I need a program that would allow me to import info and put it into a better sequential order. (Does that make sense? I think that you know what I mean though.) Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks - Jerry
