    3. Mary Ellen - I checked my tree and I see that I made an error in my early research ( I was just learning!) - I did NOT make note who married them, or where, other than in Lonaconing!! I will have to go thru my files and locate my original notes and see what I have. Will do that over the weekend and get back to you. "Something" is telling me that it was at the M.E. Church or by an M.E. minister, but I am not sure of that right now. I will check my notes and get back to you. If the latter, then when next we are in MD, I want to stop over in Cecil County (Rising Sun) to see if their court house would have marriage records. My g grandparents were Lutheran and can find no record of their marriage. In fact no Civil Records at all until they followed the RRs to OH. It was a large book. I found this out when we first visited MD Archives years ago. I was trying to find my g grandparents record from approx. 1859. They have marriage records, both bride and groom but they are from various churches. A civil record for a marriage and/or a license per the person at the archives as with all civil records start in 1898. This really surprised me since MD was one of the original 13 colonies. Just assumed they would have started in the 18th century. Only sacramental records from their particular church if they still exist. Did they record marriages license back then. I think the person got married in Allegany or Frederick County. Any assistance would be appreciated. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
