Try searching with just the surname, or with the surname and dob or dod to see if they have him listed slightly differently. What happened in my family with Harmon C. M. Perrin was a bureaucratic mistake: the army signed him up as Perron and that is how he shows up in the Alexandria National Cemetery database. It is all rather surprising, since his brother, Thomas L. Perrin, was spelled correctly.
