January 30, 1930 newspaper unknown, possibly Cumberland Evening Times Mrs. Jessie IRELAND NICHOLS died at 4:15 o'clock yesterday morning at her home, 806 Green Street, from complications covering a period of more than a year. She was a native of Glasgow, Scotland, coming to this country as a child. Mrs. NICHOLS is survived by one son, J. Albert NICHOLS, this city, and by two sisters and three brothers: Miss Isabel IRELAND, at home; Anna and Walter IRELAND, this city; George of Colorado, and Angus IRELAND, of Baltimore. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the home, with REv. Henry F. Kloman, rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing. (normal procedure in Cumberland obits was to say "this city" when a deceased was from Cumberland. Lonaconing and Cumberland are towns in Allegany County MD.) I will be researching this family further, altho at this time she isn't tied in with any of my families.
