I have been looking for my grandfather in the 1900 census. he was working in Sleepy Creek WV in July 1899- July 1900. Have looked up all the Morgan co. census but he is not there. Can someone who has the MD 1900 census look up Washington Co and see if they can find him there. His name is George E Rankin born 1880. his brothers and maybe his mother. There are Ann E Rankin mother, dob 1858 ? His brothers John W, age 24 Clarence W, 17, Samuel A,13,?and James F,about 8 months. They were living in Martinsburg?in 1896 when there father died. They maybe living with family since there mother was from MD. Maybe they are in Martinsburg in 1900, it is a dead in there. I find them later in?the next census. Can someone help ME.???? Pat in Fl

Have you ever checked out the West Virginia vital records site...it has death, birth and marriage certificates that can also be printed out. www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_select.aspx I found several George Rankins did not check for other family members.
