    3. I asked about these obits a long time ago; trying to discover who Mrs. Amon Twigg was (mentioned in obit). I know Julianna Uphold m. Amon Twigg (Abt. 1800-1836). Supposedly Julianna married 2.) Joseph Dannison - but when? "Cumberland, Md. Cumberland Times. MIDDLETON 10 Feb 1914 The badly mutilated body of Edward Middleton, 42 years old, employed as a foreman on the county roads and living at North Branch, was found at midnight last night on the B & O tracks on the Kukendall grade near North Branch. His body was found by a yard engine crew returning to Evitts Creek, brought to the city, and taken to the Butler morgue. It is supposed that Middleton was walking home to North branch and was run down by an eastbound coal train. He is survived by 1 brother and 6 sisters. Road director Benjamin Middleton is an uncle. The dead man was known through the city as Perry. City policeman, Charles Emmart married his sister. MIDDLETON 11 Feb 1914 Perry Edward Middleton, killed on the B & O RR near North Branch, removed to the home of his sister, Mrs Henry Yeargan, 7 German Street. Services will be tomorrow from the home and burial in the German Lutheran Cemetery. He is survived by his parents, Mr & Mrs John Middleton of Independence St ; 6 sisters; Mrs Henry Yeargan; Mrs Charles Emmart of 50 Harrison St; Mrs Scott Martin of Maryland Ave; Mrs Amon Twigg of Twiggtown; Mrs Howard McDonald of Cleveland OH; and Mrs Henry Hartung of Youngstown OH; Mr Middleton was 42 years old and a nephew of Benjamin Middleton, Board of Roads Directors." ----- Original Message ----- From: "soulmate" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 26, 2009 4:50 PM Subject: Re: [MDALLEGA] Benjamin Franklin Middleton Benjamin F Middleton was the brother of Emeline Middleton, Emmeline is my GGrandmother on my fathers, fathers side. B F Middleton is the great-grandfather of Connie Beachy on this list. I would be interested in having copies of the Jacob Harden Obit as well as the others that you mentioned. Ruth her name was misprinted in her obit. She was definitely an Emmeline. Emeline Middleton was the daughter of Joel Middleton d. 1894 in Allegany Co MD and Joel is buried at Mt Tabor Cemetery within a "Middleton Family Plot". Emeline married Jacob Harden and had 2 sons, Lee Roy Harden and Benjamin Franklin Harden, Benjamin F Harden was my grandfather, and they two daughters Mary Rose Harden (w/o Thomas McCoy) and Frances P. Harden w/o John Willison. Jacob Harden b. 4/1847 was the son of John C Harden and Eleanor Gossett (Greene Co., PA) Harden and had the following siblings. Benjamin F Harden - b. 1841- d. 5/11/1863 during the civil war (my grandfather was named for this man) Isaac Harden - 8/1848 dod unk. (known as Uncle Ike) Isabelle - 8/21/1847 dod unk. (known as Aunt Bell) Permelia Harden b. 5/17/1846 - d. 2/19/1936 was married to John Jackson Middleton. Jacob Harden 1847 - 1926 All of the Harden children born to John C and Eleanor Harden were born in Washington Co., PA Also in one census record I found Joel Middleton also living in Washington Co., PA but I know for sure he moved later to Allegany Co., MD. So a brother and a sister married a brother and a sister. John J Middleton was Emeline's brother. Jacob and Permilia Harden married Emmeline and John Middleton respectively. Although these siblings listed above are the only ones that I can document as being children of Eleanor and John C Harden there are other siblings as noted on a census record of having 7 children and 5 living. I know there were unidentified children born to this couple.
