    3. I have used the AGBI once at the Wisconsin State Historical Society. It seems to contain any references to a name that has been published in old genealogy works. For me, looking up Perrin, it gave a mostlyf references to the Massachusetts Perrin's and New Jersey Perrine's, but did include material from the Kent Genealogy (published privately around 1930) regarding my family in Maryland. It therefore was helpful to me at the beginning of my research. So finding something in it is what one can call a stab in the dark. My impression is that if you have been working on a family for a long time, you probably have found all the original references for what the AGBI might contain.
