Mrs. Claudine M. Friend, 80, died Saturday at her home. Born at Friendsville, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary Elizabeth (Lydic) McCullough. Her husband, Paul Friend preceded her in death. She was a member of the Friendsville Methodist Church. Surviving are one son, Paul Friend, Maitland, FL. Services will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at the Newman Funeral Home by Rev. H. B. Rittenhouse. Interment will be in the Steele Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Harrison Warnick; two sons, Harlon Warnick and Richard Warnick, here; eight sisters, Mrs. Mary Warnick, Mrs. Margaret Thomas and Mrs. Louvina Kamp, all of Detroit area; Mrs. Lucille Laraditch and Mrs. Louise Bailey, both of Washington; Mrs. Mae Durst, Mrs. Jean Rand, and Mrs. Wilda Laraditch, all of Los Angeles; two brothers, Maney Broadwater and Dennis Broadwater, both of here; and nine grandchildren. Cumberland Evening Times March 12, 1876 ** John David Nazelrod, 83, farmer, Valley road, died yesterday afternoon. Mr. Nazelrod came to this section about twenty years ago from Peru, Hardy County, WV. In his youth he owned and operated a distillery. He had been active until two weeks ago. Mr. Nazelrod was a member of Mt. Zion Brethren Church at Peru. Surviving are four sons, Robert Nazelrod, Cumberland; Jacob Nazelrod, with whom he lived; Walter Nazelrod, Barrelville, and Noah Nazelrod, formerly of Lake Koon, PA, now enroute to Centralia, Washington; brother, Henry Nazelrod, and sister, Mrs. Martha Frantz, both of Peru; 22 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. His wife died nine years ago. Burial will be at Peru. She was a daughter of the late Sarah and Jacob Gnagey, early settlers of this section of Garrett County. She was a member of the Amish Mennonite church here. Mrs. Miller leaves a son, Alvin, daughter Stella, Englewood. She was a sister of C. J. Gnagey, Buffalo, NY, Gideon J. Gnagey, Mrs. Anna J. Warnick and Mrs. Albert Warnick, Grantsville. Cumberland Evening Times March 5, 1940 ** Martinsburg, WV, March 5- Mrs. Texanna Mason, 71, wife of D. S. Mason, died Sunday afternoon at her home, 116 East King Street. A daughter of the late Joseph and Jane Adams Place, she was born near Glengary, but had spent her entire married life, 52 years, in Martinsburg. She is survived by her husband; four children; one brother, Howard W. Place, Frederick Co., VA, and two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Schade, Piedmont; and Mrs. Florida Snyder, Baltimore, MD.
