    3. I can't resist commenting on this issue. I don't want to offend anyone but some people just want instant family trees. Researching is just not their thing. If these folks find a family tree already finished on the internet to copy they are satisfied that they HAVE their family tree. Researchers, on the other hand enjoy checking all those records in dusty places to be sure they have the right family member. I tried to make a correction to something on the internet and found it wasn't doable so I just went back to my researching. It does bother me a little that some use another's tree as "documentation". I whole heartedly agree with you Chere. Possibly one reason new people working on their family history use others trees as their "documentation" is that they assume the other person has verified the data and they don't need to; or are lazy; or just don't know to verify everything. (note that I didn't say new researchers, because not all people doing their family history are RESEARCHERS. Just "gatherers" of names.)
