I searched and searched for a map that would be close to date of the 1860 census. The only one I had was 1873, after the formation of Garrett County. Finally I found one - 1865. It's great when you find something after a long search... and then you realize that your whole morning is nearly gone! Anyway, the map is in two parts. You can click on each district to get a closer view. Here is the list of districts on this 1865 map: 1. Wilson's (I don't think I've ever seen it referred to as Wilson's District), but I recognize Altamont as a P.O. listed on census sheets). 2. Selbysport 3. Grantsville 4. Westernport 5. Frostburg 6.
