    3. Priscilla, I'm not sure I understand where the link is for the map. Did it leave you attached? Thanks, Judy -----Original Message----- From: mdallega-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:mdallega-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Priscilla Engeman Sent: Thursday, November 11, 2010 1:04 PM To: MDALLEGA Subject: [MDALLEGA] 1865 Allegany Map I searched and searched for a map that would be close to date of the 1860 census. The only one I had was 1873, after the formation of Garrett County. Finally I found one - 1865. It's great when you find something after a long search... and then you realize that your whole morning is nearly gone! Anyway, the map is in two parts. You can click on each district to get a closer view. Here is the list of districts on this 1865 map: 1. Wilson's (I don't think I've ever seen it referred to as Wilson's District), but I recognize Altamont as a P.O. listed on census sheets). 2. Selbysport 3. Grantsville 4. Westernport 5. Frostburg 6. Cumberland 7. Old Town 8. Little Orleans 9. Flintstone 10. Ryan's Glade 11. Accident 12. Mount Savage 13. Cumberland 14. Sang Run 15. Oakland 16. Lonaconing The interactive map of Maryland is at Map of Maryland. J.H. Colton, Delaware and Maryland, 1855, Huntingfield Collection, MSA SC 1399-1-278 Are there other good links out there for old maps that can be viewed online?
