    3. Does anyone know how to contact Ancestry to tell them they've made a big typo? 1900 Census Maryland, Garrett, West Oakland District 14 is indexed as District 48! I haven't found a way to inform them about that of that kind of mistake. You can tell them about missing, wrong or unreadable images. You can tell them about alternate spelling of names and such. But I don't see a way to tell them about this kind of error. ? Priscilla

    3. Looking at the 1880, 1900, 1910 and 1920 censuses, I see that they have switched from indexing their records as Election Districts to Enumeration Districts. I should have looked closer before sounding the alarm. Still, there is the question of how one contacts Ancestry about errors, other than missing, wrong or unreadable images. 3. On the Ancestry.com site there are ways of submitting corrections--I know because I've done it before when I've corrected the misspelling of my grandmother's name, and other minor things. You can chose alternate spellings/names etc. You can chose to type a little memo for the error you found. I DON'T think ancestry.com makes the change, but at least you can type the error that you found, so that other researchers know of the error. Be sure for citing, that you state YOUR proof for what you type. Ruth
