    3. Virginia~       Thanks for remembering.  HUGHES & MCALLISTER were two surnames strongly connected to the CHAMBERS family via the marriage of  John B. CHAMBERS & Mary Bridget MCALLISTER. Your Husband's Uncle Barney did, indeed, have a bar on E. Main St. I went there once or twice when I was young. It was two doors from Center St, going toward the town. It had cement steps leading up to it  but they are now gone. Bernard HUGHES was my husband's Uncle Barney HUGHES. And Fr. NOLAN had some link with the NOLAN family that married with the Thomas CHAMBERS family of Lonoconing. Jack is not here at the moment but I think Uncle Barney either bartended or had a bar on Main St. in Frostburg. The Irishmen and their descendants celebrated St. Patrick's Day in a fitting manner here yesterday and the shamrock and bits of green ribbon were very much in evidence. At 8 o'clock in the evening a large audience witnessed the production of the Irish drama, "Shannon Boys," at the Frostburg Opera House. The scene of the play is laid in Ireland and the plot, which is a most beautiful and interesting one, was brought out in the work of the different characters, Rev. Joseph P. Nolan, Messrs. M. P. Grant, Bernard Hughes, Misses Marie Dundon, and Nellie Johns and Tom Flanagan & Co., introduced some good specialties. The singing of Rev. Joseph P. Nolan was highly appreciated by the audience. The entertainment was one of the best given by local talent here this season. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MDALLEGA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MDALLEGA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MDALLEGA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MDALLEGA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
