    3. Looking for the death date or obit for William Harris. He was my GGrandfather. Married to Catherine Cross. They lived in Eckhart, he was a coal miner, came from England. Was naturalized in 1870 in Allegany Co. Was listed in the 1900 census, Catherine Harris was listed as a widow in 1910. So he died between 1900 - 1910. I've checked the Cumberland Times Excerpts from Charlie Often, but nothing. I know he is buried in Porter Cemetery without a marker. I don't know who holds the interment records for Porter Cemetery. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Linda Harden-Lantz

    3. The search is tedious but you could go to Maryland Archives on line Death Index and search.

    3. Ok, Thanks, I had forgotten about that site. I just scanned between 1900 and 1910 and nothing in the Vital records search. I guess my last hope is the Cumberland Times. Anyone know of a free site where you can read the Cumberland Times from here in TN?
