Happy New Year everyone, Sometime ago (year or so) I downloaded a page from the 1850 census for BALTIMORE 6th ward. Dwelling 351 on that page of the census is John McMahon and his family. Can anyone decipher what his job was? It begins with a "G" but I cannot figure out what it is. Also the children are Bridget, Thomas,, Mary, ????? and Peter. Unknown child is a boy. Dwelling #353 is another John McMahon age 30 who has a job that also begins with a "G" but I am not sure it is the same as the the earlier John's job. This family eventually ended up in Allegheny County but I do not know where. Daughter Bridget is my great grandmother. Any help with these questions will get this new year off to a great start for me. Thank you, LoisZ.
