    3. Virginia, The heirs of Mary Chaney and Joseph T. Hansel are listed in the 1888 distribution of her father's estate (John C. Chaney - All. Co., MD, Liber K, p. 223,224) and they do not include a daughter Sarah. Their daughter Emma did marry a Workman, and had two children, Florus Workman and Henry Workman. Naomie Chaney, 2nd wife of Soloman Hansel, according to the 1880 census, did have a daugher Sarah, b. ca. 1877. She does not appear their household in the 1900 census, so it could be assumed that she had married in 1896. That is all the information I seem to have on this daughter, so I can't say she did marry Clarence Workman, but I can say that Clarence Workman's wife was not the daughter of Mary Chaney Hansel. I hope this helps you out. Donnie > Does any one know the parents of Sarah Geney Hansel. > > I have two different sets of parents One is Joseph T. Hansel and Mary > Chaney. 3. Sharon, Contact James H. Dowdy at jdowdy@atlanticbb.net<mailto:jdowdy@atlanticbb.net. He lives in Annapolis and is a researcher at MD Archive. E mail him your request, he will research it and then e mail you back the amount you owe him. You then mail him a check and he mails you the death cert. He is very good and charges very reasonable rates. I use him all the time and he's a really nice man. Tell him I gave you his name. Good luck!

    3. Layton must have been a popular name. There is a Laytonsville, Maryland on route 108. Wonder if there is a connection?

    3. I thought they will if you have a general idea of say years for $25.00 or so an hour. Maybe that used to be the case. I don't know for sure now.

    3. Since the Maryland Archives will not do a general search for a death certificate, does someone know of someone who goes regularly to Annapolis (or who lives very close) who would be willing to look up one death certificate. I am willing to pay for copying, postage. The time frame is between 1944 and 1951. Thanks.

    3. Has anyone heard of Layton's Ford near Cumberland? On the back of a 1872 stereoview photograph is written in pencil: "At Laytons Ford 3 miles below Cumberland on the Potomac River." I am collecting information about 19th century Potomac River fords. Wileys Ford is well known, but this is the first time I had heard of Laytons. I'd like to find another source of information to confirm it. Thanks Tim
