    3. Hello, I have missed what was probably your original posting. Maybe I can help a little. I have William George MILLER, b. 9 Jan 1804, m. Dorcas Catherine DUCKWORTH, b. 7 Sep 1813. This couple had a daughter Mary Louise MILLER who m. David William HOTT, their son was named Archibald Burton "Archie" HOTT. If this is your family line and I can help, I will be happy to share what I have. >From: "Carol Dinning" <dinnjd@atlanticbb.net> >Reply-To: mdallega@rootsweb.com >To: <mdallega@rootsweb.com> >Subject: [MDALLEGA] Miller Hott >Date: Thu, 3 May 2007 15:59:11 -0400 > >I received the death certificate of my great grandmother today. 3. I received the death certificate of my great grandmother today. Her parents are listed as William Henry Miller and Katherine Duckworth. It lists him as being born in Germany and her in Lonaconing. This information was given by her son, Arch Hott as the informant. The information I have received from census, lists her parents as William George Miller born in Lonaconing and Dorcas Catherine Duckworth born in Lonaconing as her mother. Would I be better off to go by the census names then the death certificate, as possibly her son was wrong when he gave the information for the death certificate? Thanks. Carol

    3. I would not assume either is accurate until you have further documentation. Census info is also notoriously unreliable, and was often not provided by the person in question. A marriage record for William and Catherine/Dorcas would be helpful--the information was more likely to be provided by the parties themselves. Deeds, too, are often good places to find names......
