Pat-If you contact any United Methodist Church in Cumberland, they can tell you if the church still exist and if not the number of the District Superintendent who can tell you who they merged with. Also they may be on a multi-church charge and thus not be individually listed in the phone book. A United Methodist Minister in East Tennessee who retires in six weeks-Mark-

Pat, I Googled "Dawson United Methodist Church" and found quite a few spread across the country. The <MdMountainside.com> website had this address for the church you are looking for: Dawson United Methodist Church Route 3, Box 93A Rawlings, Maryland 21557 Telephone# 301-786-5077 This has to be an old address because Allegany County no longer has mail addressed to Routes and Boxes - everything has a street or road name and number. I do still get an occassional letter addressed to my old route and box, so if you mail to this address, the Rawlings P.O. will probably deliver it. Good luck in your search. Donnie >There is no listing in the phone book for a Dawson >Methodist Church. >There > are 27 other Methodist >Churches.
Thanks Connie, the only thing I have to go on is the obit that I got form the Allegany County Genealogy Society. Got it the same day I met you working there. The obit dated 12-11-1965 says service will be conducted at Dawson Methodist Church by Rev. L Carl Whitten. Burial Dawson Cemetery. Maybe the church has a new name, who knows. Burial was at the Dawson Cemetery, I assume this must not be a Church Cemetery. This is always my luck and dead end. Pat. Joseph Nolan (1912-1995) married Mary Brewer (1913-1979?) is anyone connected to this line? I am particularly interested in Mary Brewer's line. Theresa
Does the State of Maryland have death records prior to 1898, if so how may they be obtained? Thanks

Thanks Judy for pointing out about the married date should be 1893. We must have a typo in our records. I'm hoping I can find a marriage certificate for them to prove it. Thank you, I think I will order it. I'm pretty sure that's got to be him. Louann Kiddy Creasy -----Original Message----- From: mdallega-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:mdallega-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Martha Grenzeback Sent: Saturday, May 05, 2007 8:35 PM To: mdallega@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MDALLEGA] Kiddy/Kiddie brick wall Why don't you order his death certificate? The MD Archives Vital Records index shows a Thomas Kiddy who died July 10, 1908, in Allegany Co. (See if you can get here: http://mdvitalrec.net/cfm/dsp_jump.cfm?CurrentPage=265 ). It may well give a birth date and place, possibly parents (depending on whether the informant knew any of that). You might find Orianna Kiddie/y as a widow in the 1910 census, too. I just recently received the following message headed CUMBERLAND CHAT. The site is back up but some people are experiencing problems getting to it. If you still can't get to the site by Tuesday afternoon (May 7), call your ISP and ask how long their DNS records are cached before they renew. Ask them if they can clear their cache. Thanks for your patience! FM To my knowledge I have not been able to access the Cumberland Chat for months. I do not recall sending an e-mail to webmaster but if this site is up can someone provide me with the website? Pat ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
