    1. [MDALLEGA] Short Creek Twp. question
    2. HI Jocelyn... Any of your people come from Jefferson or Harrison Co., OH? I know that there's a Short Creek Twp. that's currently in Harrison Co., east of New Athens. Before Harrison was formed, though (in 1814), that part of the county would have been part of Jefferson, to the east. The only other Short Creek that comes to mind is part of Ohio Co., WVA, then part of VA. I've never seen it rendered as a township, but.... Anyway, THAT Short Creek is near West Liberty, which is north of Wheeling. I'm voting for the one in Harrison Co. Hope that helps. Hi John I don't mean to add to your mystery, but there is a young James Twigg in the 1930 Ohio census who was born circa 1907 in MD, and married c1928 Elizabeth ?, likely in Ohio - had a son James b 1929 - living in Akron. Could this be your young man with an earlier marriage? Vince ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

    2. Karen Hangsleben
    3. Thank you for this census search. My problem has always been that there are too many Mary, Mae, May and Margaret given names in this family. Couple this with the men sometimes known by William J. and then J. William it takes so much sorting out. The 1900 WV family is certainly one to consider. Now how the parents went from J.N. and Ida to Henry and Molly is anyone's guess however. I'm waiting now for the FH to send me the burial records. Maybe seeing them 1st hand will make everything clear. Things get more confusing if someone tells you something over the phone without you having the benefit of a written document in front of you. It is such a blessing that people have taken an interest in my work and are using their available resources trying to help me. I couldn't ask to subscribe to a better list- Karen Nelson Hangsleben (TX) -----Original Message----- From: mdallega-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:mdallega-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of VinceKoers@aol.com Sent: Tuesday, May 22, 2007 10:27 PM To: mdallega@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MDALLEGA] Freeland (Henry and Molly Lamb) dau weds Steppe Hi Karen: There is a May M Steppe in the 1930 Cumberland, Allegany MD census, married to William J.
