Going up Jackson Street from downtown Lonaconing, Jackson Street splits at the Egle Nursing Home for about 1/2 mile. The left street goes up the north side of the stream. The right street goes up on the hill and is "High" on the hill. The low street goes over a bridge and merges with the high street and they continue as one street. I believe the nursing home is the old Jackson School. The "Low" street is close to the stream (run). Leon

Looking for information on the following family: There is a Richard Reid(any spelling) 33, and family, wife Bridget 36 and children, Peter 12, bn England, Rose 8, bn England, Margaret, 4, bn Maryland, Richard 2, bn England and Michael 10/12, bn Mary on the 1870 census in Lonaconing. Chere - I did a mapquest search for Jackson High Row, and the map shows LOWER Jackson St. and Jackson Run Rd. SW - try a map search and see what you can locate - I am not from Lona. so can't be of anymore assistance. Good luck, Ruth Sprowls

Judy, If you forward a message to a second party it does include the original message, I just tried it by sending and forwarding to myself. You might want to remember that all replies will leave out the original message if for some reason you want it to be sent, just change the settings. Judy, As far as I know this does, the only difference might be if you forward a message to a new party. You can send a message to yourself, and try forwarding the incoming message back to yourself to see what happens. "The Ole Crow" Dick Crow "Retired & enjoying it!" rw.crow@verizon.net Cell: 603-490-0153
If you are using Outlook Express, go to TOOLS, OPTIONS, SEND, UNCHECK "INCLUDE MESSAGE IN REPLY", CLICK ON APPLY AND THEN CLOSE OR OKAY. This will remove any of the original message in your reply to the sender. Which is what I have done with this message. "The Ole Crow" Dick Crow "Retired & enjoying it!" rw.crow@verizon.net Cell: 603-490-0153
Thanks, Dick. I tried it! Does this work every time I reply to an e-mail? Judy
Ruth~ 1) Under EDIT my cut and paste were in fade mode and could not click on them after I highlighted. 2.) Where do you type "snip" on the blank web search site line??? I have just been clicking the delete and holding. Sure would like something easier if I could do it. Mary Ellen Chambers
Two easy ways: 1) Highlight extraneous messages then click on the "Cut" function, usually next to copy/paste/undo/etc. (I did this to all text prior to Message 4, to which I am replying.) 2) Highlight extraneous messages/thread then type: <snip> (as I have done following Karen's Message 4). This method lets people know editing has been done because <snip> appears. "Legacy" is a wonderful program as well. Personally, I've tried FTM and I don't care for the way you enter your data. You can get a free version Of Legacy to try out, which works just fine for a lot of people. There are a few things not available in the free version, which you may never need, but if you find you do need them you can always upgrade to the Deluxe (paid) version whenever you like. Either Deluxe or free, there are frequent updates to the program. Gee Whiz, if I had known that the question would cause such an uproar, I wouldn't have posted it...Yes, I would. he, he. But seriously, I feel that this is what this forum is for, to get different thoughts on different subjects that are all related to genealogy. I know for a newbie to genealogy like myself, I am open to everyone's suggestions on how to do things. You never know, someone may have a way of doing something that works for you too. I sometimes get annoyed at the many emails that come thru also, but they are interesting to read, and if I don't think I need them, I just delete them. I don't know of any way around it at this point, but like I said I have enjoyed reading them and this group has been so helpful to me, I am glad to be a part of it. Louann, On another site I am on we went to this notation in the title of the email. NG then the title. NG indicates the question or comment one is making is NOT Genealogy related.
