Yes, I was able to find, save, and print the death certificates for my grandfather Thomas Kiddy dob 16 Jan 1895, and my grandmother Nina (Knott) Kiddy dob 19 April 1897 from the West Virginia vital records website. That's one thing that I like about their website. In Maryland, I had to send away for a photocopy for a death certificate for Thomas' father, Thomas. I am just having trouble finding any concrete info in Nina's parents...John William Knott dob abt 1861 or62 and Indiana Missouri Boyd, dob abt 1865 or 64. Both I think were born in WV. Louann: Many of us on the Allegany Co., MD list are also on many of the WV list. It would be VERY HELPFUL if you post the names of your relatives along with dates and spouses, you may be extremely surprised at what someone on this list can help you with. Name, date of birth, date of death, and spouse can make ALL the difference in someone helping you. In my early research for my Allegany Co. families, I found that some of the Kirkwood family had migrated from Nova Scotia to Allegany Co.,MD. I wondered why Nova Scotia first. I found info that stated it was cheaper to emmigrate from Scotland to Nova Scotia than to American ports. just an fyi - Ruth
Does anybody on the Allegany Co, MD mailing list also belong to the West Virginia mailing List? I was wondering if it was as active and as helpful as this one? I believe that my Knott family relatives were from Piedmont, Keyser, and Elk Garden areas, so I thought I might join the West Va mailing list. Louann Kiddy Creasy

I don't know if it was on this mailing list that someone suggested this website or not but I would like to share my thoughts about the website Findagrave.com. I have just been looking up some things on it and liked it so much that I registered with them to have more access. I have just recently found some new cousins on line in my Dayton family research (you know who you are), and I was asking one of them if they knew where the Dayton Cemetery was located. Well, to my delight, I found it on Find A Grave, and it even has a map on how to get there. And it listed the other cemetery in my home town where other family members are buried. Please check out this website it may be of some use finding a lost relative. You can just enter the surname and it will come up with a whole list of people and the Cemeteries they are in. Of course, the listings are not all complete, but you can enter info and pictures, bios, etc, if you have one that's not on there. Enjoy, Louann Kiddy Creasy
