    3. The only way that BF Middleton connects to the Harden family is because his sister Emeline married Jacob Harden and his brother John J Middleton married Permelia Harden (jacob's sister) Short but factual. 3. I asked about these obits a long time ago; trying to discover who Mrs. Amon Twigg was (mentioned in obit). I know Julianna Uphold m. Amon Twigg (Abt. 1800-1836). Supposedly Julianna married 2.) Joseph Dannison - but when? "Cumberland, Md. Cumberland Times. MIDDLETON 10 Feb 1914 The badly mutilated body of Edward Middleton, 42 years old, employed as a foreman on the county roads and living at North Branch, was found at midnight last night on the B & O tracks on the Kukendall grade near North Branch. His body was found by a yard engine crew returning to Evitts Creek, brought to the city, and taken to the Butler morgue. It is supposed that Middleton was walking home to North branch and was run down by an eastbound coal train. He is survived by 1 brother and 6 sisters. Road director Benjamin Middleton is an uncle. The dead man was known through the city as Perry. City policeman, Charles Emmart married his sister. MIDDLETON 11 Feb 1914 Perry Edward Middleton, killed on the B & O RR near North Branch, removed to the home of his sister, Mrs Henry Yeargan, 7 German Street. Services will be tomorrow from the home and burial in the German Lutheran Cemetery. He is survived by his parents, Mr & Mrs John Middleton of Independence St ; 6 sisters; Mrs Henry Yeargan; Mrs Charles Emmart of 50 Harrison St; Mrs Scott Martin of Maryland Ave; Mrs Amon Twigg of Twiggtown; Mrs Howard McDonald of Cleveland OH; and Mrs Henry Hartung of Youngstown OH; Mr Middleton was 42 years old and a nephew of Benjamin Middleton, Board of Roads Directors." ----- Original Message ----- From: "soulmate" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 26, 2009 4:50 PM Subject: Re: [MDALLEGA] Benjamin Franklin Middleton Benjamin F Middleton was the brother of Emeline Middleton, Emmeline is my GGrandmother on my fathers, fathers side. 3. <Does anyone have any information on Benjamin Franklin Middleton that would connect with the Harden family?> I searched the newspaper website I subscribe to and searched for articles that included both surnames of Middleton and Harden. I located the obit in Feb. 26, 1921 for MRS. AMELIA HARDEN (in her childrens obits she was listed as Emmaline). Amelia was a sister to B. F. MIDDLETON. She was married to Jacob HARDEN. She died on Feb. 26, 1921 at her home. She was survived by husband Jacob, one son Benjamin HARDEN, and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Rose (Thomas) MCCOY, and Mrs. Frances (John) WILLISON. Other brothers listed were John and Thomas MIDDLETON and sister Mrs. H. TWIGG. Burial was in Greenmount Cemetery. I will post obits for Mary Rose MCCOY and Frances WILLISON and Jacob HARDEN in another message. (will gladly scan / email if anyone needs) Ruth Sprowls

    1. [MDALLEGA] LEIGHTY - SIEHL - KENNEY - GEISBERT - METZGER - LEWIS
    2. Ruth Sprowls
    3. My great great aunt Jane/Jean HAMILTON married George D. SIEHL of Somerset Co.PA around the late 1890's or so. Daughter Mora E. SIEHL married Melvin L. GEISBERT. Mora was born about 1895 and died age 70 in Nov. 3, 1970. Mora and Melvin GEISBERT had a daughter Charlotte, who I think was born 1918 and died 1994. She married John METZGER who I think was born 1912 and died 1997, they Charlotte and John lived in Lavale and Cumberland. (dates from SSDI) Mora had a brother Lawrence Hamilton SIEHL born about 1893 and died August 15, 1977 in Fort Ashby. Lawrence married Ida G. LEIGHTY. A sister of Ida G. LEIGHTY SIEHL, Margaret E. LEIGHTY, married Walter S. KENNEY. When Lawrence was stricken ill, wife Ida phoned her brother in law Walter to come over. Mr. KENNEY collapsed on the porch of the Siehl home - both men dead on arrival at the hospital. Parents of the Ida and Margaret LEIGHTY were Sarah Ellen LIGHT and William H. LEIGHTY. Lawrence and Ida Siehl had a son George. I "think" George married Katherine LEWIS between 1940 and 1946. I would live to verify this. Anyone who can tie my assumptions together regarding George and Katherine? Any cousins out there? I would like to fill in some gaps, and can share what I have. Thanks for bearing with my long message. Ruth Sprowls
