    3. Dear List- I was informed by another List member and dear friend of Connie's that Connie was released from the hospital today - now we are trying to find out where she is staying. I'm under the impression she isn't at her home. I guess any cards sent to the hospital will be forwarded to Connie. Sharon

    3. Hi list, I was getting ready to mail off a card to Connie and decided to check for a street address for that Scared Heart/Braddock Branch. I found out that they have formed a new Hospital system with two different hospitals. Scared Heart and Memorial hospitals have become " Western Maryland Health System" So you'd mail a card to; Western Maryland Health System, Braddock Campus, 900 Seton Drive, Room 419, Cumberland, MD 21502 the phone if needed is 301-759-4200. Memorial Hospital became Western Maryland Health System, Memorial Campus. www.wmhs.com.htm

    3. Thank you for the information about Connie Beachy. She was one of the first to help me when I first started on my genealogy research. I too had noticed that she was absent from the list lately, but thought that she might be busy or just taking a break. I am very sorry to hear that she is having a problem. I wish her all the best and good wishes for the future. Please keep us up to date on her, and pass on our love and good wishes to her. Louann Kiddy Creasy

    3. They usually cash the check pretty quickly - and then it takes 4-6 weeks. I had hem cash the check once and had to reimburse me because my great grandfather had actually died in West Virginia. His family had recorded the death certificate in Maryland but they could not send me a copy. On a similar note - if there are relatives I can not find in the Maryland Vital records but I have their date of death is there a way to send just that information to get a copy of the death certificate or does it have to be on their list?

    3. I think I saw once that it cost about 10 to 25 dollars to research the death certificate if you don't have the info. They used to have an email address where you could ask those questions. But some time ago I sent and email and it was returned. The address no longer was there.

    3. I wrote to the address on the Maryland Archives website with the data I had on 2 relatives who were not on the on line index.  I could only give a timeline for their deaths.  I also sent a check with the hope that they would find these ancestors.  About 6 weeks later (may have been longer) I got the death certificates for both.  Have no idea why they were not on the index.   Mary Ellen Chambers Lakewood, OH --- On Tue, 3/17/09, Theresa Swanson <[email protected]> wrote: From: Theresa Swanson <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [MDALLEGA] Death Certificates To: [email protected] Date: Tuesday, March 17, 2009, 8:41 AM They usually cash the check pretty quickly - and then it takes 4-6 weeks. It has been a month and they haven't even taken the check out of my account as of yet. Does anybody know how long it takes now...

    2. Dear Dick, Thanks for your reply. I didn't phrase my question well enough. I have my Preston/Bailey family on the 1850 and 1860 census'. I know the boundaries are redrawn for each census and wanted to know if they were in the same geographical place in 1860, the Cumberland Post office, as they were in 1850, District 5. Thanks to anyone who can help with this question. Donna Hogle, San Diego

Words cannot express my feelings at this moment. Thank you again - I too was concerned since we had not heard anything from Connie in ages. Sincerely, Ruth Sprowls

    3. Sharon, Thank you for checking on Connie. She has been noticeably absent from the list. I'm so sorry to hear she is not the old Connie. She's been with this list since before I joined, and that was quite a few years ago. An avid genealogist and always adding a helpful bit of information. Also a dedicated volunteer. I will be sending her a card. Dear List Friends- > > I have been very worried about Connie and I called her son, Chris. Chris > has asked me to pass this information on to the List. 3. Sharon, I, too, have been wondering about Connie. Thanks for calling Chris and getting an up-date. Knowing that she was known among the members of the Garrett Co. Historical Society, I made contact with one of the members who will so advise other members of the G.C.H.S. and I am sure they will also forward cards to her. Connie and I shared a lot of info regarding our TWIGG ancestry, and it was she who found another cousin of mine in Frostburg who shared the CLARK ancestry. Several years ago I worked with her several times at the Garrett Co. Historical Museum in Oakland. I sincerely hope things go well with her. 3. Sharon, I was about to do some physical searching for Connie also. I have been very concerned about her absence. Thank you so much for finding out what has happened to her. I thought she was visiting with her daughter, or in one of her prolonged genealogical projects for her church or the All. Co. Gen. society. So sorry to hear of her illness. She will be greatly missed. Do hope that she recovers completely and soon. Thanks for sharing this information. Take Care Pat H.
