    3. Someone sent the address for getting into the Library of Congress. I apparently deleted it and would like to have it. Thanks Nancy

    2. Joseph Mckenzie
    3. Also on the findagrave.com search box. You only have to put the first letter in for it to work so if you don't know how to spell the whole name just put in say "mck" for the surname and all names with that will come up like Mckenzie, Mckensey,Mckinzie, Mckeon. Joe in Florida

    3. What happened in my family with Harmon C. M. Perrin was a bureaucratic mistake: the army signed him up as Perron and that is how he shows up in the Alexandria National Cemetery database. It is all rather surprising, since his brother, Thomas L. Perrin, was spelled correctly. 3. Sharon: There are omissions in the VA database. You can inform the cemetery or VA of your gr-gr-uncle's burial and they will add him to the database. Try searching with just the surname, or with the surname and dob or dod to see if they have him listed slightly differently. 3. My Gr-Gr-Uncle was killed during the Civil War and I have a picture of his tombstone, clearly showing his name. He is buried in Hampton National Cemetery (VA). This cemetery is listed on the drop-down menu but the prompt tells me "NO results shown for your search". I even tried it without the cemetery name and played with variants of his surname but got no results.

    3. Priscilla, how wonderful!!! I hope many more are able to locate their family members. I love it when a shared website provides info for others. (I had located an obit for a great uncle Alexander Allerdice that had been buried in Arlington National Cem. And I just found his burial location. whooppee - now to locate a volunteer to possibly provide a photo of the grave. cross your fingers) Ruth

    3. While at www.google.com searching for the Sprowls families, I had a result for a patent that had been filed in 1907 for a wrench by Frederick A. Sprowls. This was the original drawing and patent application. I did some generic searching for other family names, and it turned out to be quite an interesting play time. lol I thought I would share the url, just in case you would like to check out the search engine. Have fun and hope you find someone interesting. www.google.com/patents Ruth Sprowls

There are 6 - 8 1/2 X 11 pages. I am going to take them to work tomorrow and scan them into a PDF file and if anyone would like a copy please let me know and I will email it to you. There is a very detailed description of the damage, list of estimated damage cost to dwellings and business and names of individuals and their monetary loss. If someone can give me a email address that I could sent this data to so it could be put on the county site, I will do that. Dick Crow "The Ole Crow" Retired and enjoying it! 3. Sam, I guess you received the story okay. I guess the error message I received was that the List would not accept the attachment. Your story is really interesting - strange things do happen. I remember back in the late 60's we saw a picture of a broom straw blow into a telephone pole from a tornado near Oil City, PA in the newspaper. Dick Crow "The Ole Crow" Retired and enjoying it!
