    3. Thank you Sharon. This sounds right. I am going to try again to find it before the summer is over. Another Jerry Twigg I went to school with would have known where it was but he died last Sept. Oliver was his ancestor too. I'm related to two lines of Twiggs, but they come down from Charles and Jane (Johnson) Twigg. I'd like to get my Hartley's as far back as the Twiggs! Thanks again. 3. JoAnn- It sounds as if you may be describing the "Oliver Grove United Methodist Church" on Old Oldtown Road. This piece of land was donated by Oliver Twigg when he lived at Sink Hole Bottom. Oliver was Jerry Twigg's grandfather and Jerry says the land was located at the very back of the old Twigg farm. Oliver donated the land for the church, which is red brick, and the cemetery, located across the road. Sharon

    3. Becci, I used to have the e-mail address for you , or maybe it was another Oldtown site. At any rate, I would like to know what it is. I hate to admit it but Doris and I were in Cumberland for a Genealogy Club Meeting and decided we would drive on down to Oldtown and check out a couple of the cemeteries. I wanted to go to the Methodist Church's cemetery and I remember going with my Mother when I was a teenager and it seemed we drove right up to it. Of course I wasn't driving then. Doris and I found two cemeteries, neither were the ones we wanted. Since then Doris has discovered were Mt Herman (or something like that) is located, but I need to know how to get to the Methodist Church cemetery. I seem to remember a church which was part white and brick. You live near it don't you? We drove down Oldtown Road and I think we were on every road on the mountain. I need help. I want to see my greatgrandfather's grave again. He was Martin Conser Hartley and hopefully Lavinia is there too. Uncle Randolph Hartley is buried there also but I seem to remember Mother saying that he didn't have a head stone and she was talking about getting one for him, but don't know if she did. Funny how life gets in the way sometimes and you get off track. I believe you once told me that Daddy's brother Jesse Justin Boden is buried there too. He was only about 8 mo. old when he died. I should get a death certificate for him. Hope to get down before the summer is over. Heaven only knows what gasoline will cost next year. Hope you are still working on your genealogy. 3. I received a very brief not from Connie last week. The envelope was addressed to my husband but the note inside was addressed "Dear Friend". She said she was going through her address book and she was writing to see if I was still there. I wrote back telling her I was still here and I assured her I really missed her in a really box way. If I hear anything else, I'll let you know. I have a feeling everyone in her address book will get a similar note. Sharon

    3. Laura- It's not much to go on but in the "Allegany County, Maryland Rural Cemeteries" by the Allegany Co. Genealogical Society, page 237: An unmarked grave -- said to be William Beveridge, husband of Julia Kroll of Frostburg, (daughter of John and Barbara Kroll).

    3. Hi all,I'm new and thought I'd put out a general message listing my research interests. I'm researching the names Blaine (Blane, Blain) and Beveridge (Beverage) -- right now concentrating on the George Beveridge and Margaret Wilson family, who had these children: John E, Christina (my great-great grandmother), William, Montgomery, Thomas, Martha, Jacobenia, Margaret, George and Agnes. For the Blaines, I've only gotten as far back as John Blain, who married Christina Beveridge in Sept. of 1862 in Allegany County, Md. and his brother Hugh, who married Ann Smidely in 1855. All of these families appear to have relocated (my family line to Westmoreland County, PA) within about 15 years, but I am hoping to track some of the siblings of my great-grandparents down, so I thought these names might ring a bell to someone -- hopefully!. Laura
