I bought blue tracing paper two or three years ago but I never really knew how to use it. Can someone instruct me. I plan on going to Newburg in Preston Co. this week-end. (depending on the weather) to see if I can get a better copy of a stone there in Newburg Union Cemetery. Joe (from Newburg) sent me a picture of a stone with my ancestor's name on it. Harriet Hinerman wife of David Hoffman. He said there is a ston right beside it with the name Lizzy Hinerman beside her. Maybe I can lift some other info from the stone with the blue paper. I have the middle initial for David Hoffman as "D". I also have info showing this David Hoffman b. 1822 was a Civil War Vet. He is supossed to be listed in Vol. 1; he enlisted 1865 and mustered out May 1865; transfered to E; thirteenth MD infantry. How would I go about getting a Civil War Badge (or what ever it is called ^..^) for David Hoffman. It shows George Hoffman enlistment same as David also transferd to E Thirteenth MD infantry. I know George is related to David but not sure how. Thanks for your help. Harriet</HTML>

I looked at this deed in the Allegany court house and the lady at desk told Me how I could look at it on line. Well It works. This deed is proof that Solomon Robinson Born about 1810 is the son of Elizabeth McKenzie. It is on page 38 about 6 lines down. Pat I will send you more information Joe Mckenzie Allegany deed in book 40 pages 37,38,39 Oct. 11,1873 Elizabeth McKenziem http://www.mdlandrec.net/msa/stagser/s1700/s1741/cfm/act_captureimage.cfm?CFID=36547719&CFTOKEN=83923218&book=40&b_beg_date=1872&b_end_date=1873&b_qu=CE&b_sr=78&b_ssu=33&b_sp=37&b_select=true

Looking for some info from any WILSON researchers: 1860 Census, Allegany County, 8th District, Flintstone Post Office Amon & Alley (?) WILSON are living with their children: Mary Susan 19 (who later married Upton B. McELFISH) Martha A. 18 Eli 16 William 14 Hannah J. 5 Does anybody have any further information on the kids from there? (I know where Mary Susan ended up, but that's it.) Next door to Amon & Alley was Susanna WILSON, who I believe was Amon's widowed mother. Living with her was a 14 y/o girl, Elizabeth. Is Elizabeth a grand-daughter of Susanna (possibly a twin of William), or did Amon have any siblings, and that's where Elizabeth came from. (Or maybe I'm completely offbase?) Anybody who may know, I'd appreciate any info you may have. Thanks! Jerry
Thanks. I do have the charts. But I am still looking for obits. for John and Rachel Folk as well as birth, death and marriage dates. The only thing I have is what is on the Percy Cemetery site. I do not have the book. Does it have more than that on the web page? I am assuming that Rachel is a second marriage but this may not be true as I have not found any info on Frisby or Charles Wesleys births that may show their parents. Still looking for a census that may show Frisby and CW as small boys w/ their parents. Probably the 1850 census. Thanks for your help. Is this the article you were looking for? "The Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Friday 13 Jul 1906: "A DOUBLE TRAGEDY-Two Young People Killed by No. 12-One of the saddest fatal accidents that ever took place in this vicinity occurred about 9:20 Tuesday evening, July 10, 1906, a short distance east of the Bloomington bridge on the B & O railroad, resulting in the instant death of Mr. Callie Neff, a B & O freight brakeman, residing with his mother on the east end of Fairview street near the HERALD office, and Miss Daisy Reed, of Bloomington, Md. Miss Reed had spent the evening in Piedmont and Mr. Neff started to accompany her home, walking up the B & O railroad. A Mr. FAZENBAKER, of the Junction, witnessed the accident and immediately summoned assistance. They were walking on the north (westbound) track and took it for granted that passenger train No. 12, which they must have heard coming, was on the south (eastbound) track. Owing to a wreck near Bloomington No. 12 was sent over the north track and dashed around the c! urve through a cut so suddenly they did not have time to get off the track. Both were instantly killed and their bodies thrown some distance, the engineer, Mr. Wm. FAZENBAKER, not being aware of the accident. Their bodies were brought to Piedmont at once and taken to the Fredlock undertaking rooms on Lyon street and prepared for burial before being sent to their respective homes. Callie Elwood Neff is the eldest son of Mr. John W. and Mrs. Fannie Neff, and was born at Frankfort, Mineral county, Christmas day-December 25, 1884, being in his 22nd year. He was an industrious young man and had been materially assisting in the support of the family for several years. He had been in the employ of the B & O for eight years, the last two having been spent as brakeman here. He had been transferred to the Keyser yard where he had only worked two days. His was a social disposition and he was popular with his railroad associates and all his acquaintances. The family-especially his devo! ted mother, to whom he had always been so kind and helpful-are! heart b roken over his tragic death. The funeral of Miss Reed took place at eleven o'clock this morning from St. Peter's Catholic church, Westernport, Md. The funeral of Mr. Neff will take place from the Southern M. E. church at two o'clock this afternoon, Rev. H. L. Hout..." "The Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Friday 20 Jul 1906: "TWO LARGE FUNERALS-When No. 12's Victims Were Laid to Rest-Two of the saddest and largest funerals occurring in this community for some time took place last Friday when Miss Daisy Reed and Mr. Callie Neff, the victims of B & O, passenger train No. 12, were laid to rest. The funeral of Miss Reed, the 22-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Reed, of Bloomington, Md., took place Friday morning, the funeral cortège coming down on the eleven o'clock Western Maryland train, the services being held in St. Peter's Catholic church, her pastor, Rev. Thos. E. Gallagher, officiating and celebrating High Mass. The attendance was large, many meeting the train and escorting the remains to the church, and thence to its lasting resting place. The floral tributes were magnificent, representing the love, esteem and high regard in which the deceased was held by her friends, companions, and acquaintances. Miss Reed was of a gentle, pl! easant and social disposition and had a large circle of friends who join the family in mourning their great loss. The funeral of Callie Franklin Neff, the companion of Miss Reed in the sad accident, took place Friday afternoon from St. John's Methodist Episcopal church, South, Ashfiend street, the pastor, Rev. H. L. Hout, officiating. The Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and Fraternal Order of Eagles, of which he was a member, attended in a body and had charge of the funeral arrangements. the pall-bearers being selected from their number. The two orders were very attentive to the bereaved ones on this sad occasion, which was much appreciated and for which the family-especially the grieved mother-express many thanks. The attendance of sympathetic friends was so large that building was crowded. The floral tributes of respect were very numerous, many large and fine pieces being among the collection. Mr. Neff was an industrious, kind and generous young man, kind to all and espec! ially to his mother, who is heartbroken over his sad and sudde! n death. Among friends in attendance from out of tow were: Mrs. J. W. Perry, Mrs. George Grimes and daughter, Mrs. C.W. Grimes, Attorney R.A.L. Dick, George Marker and J. A. Nev of Cumberland; Mrs. Thomas Bone, of Clarksburg; Mrs. Lucy A. Lashbaugh, of Frostburg; Mr. and Mrs. John W. Burke, Mrs. D.T. Greenwade, of Keyser, and many others whose names we could not learn."
Pat~ I will forward to you from ancestry the census for, if memory serves me, the 1870 and 1880 census. I remember checking back to the 1840s but some of these census did not have the original image, but had the data for you to locate the image. I think on one (earlier one) Rachael is listed as head, uses the surname FOLK but 10 yrs. later she is Rachel ROBINSON with ROBINSON children, Frisby and his brother CW with surname FOLK listed. These newspapers are also available at the McKeldin library at the University of Maryland in College Park. I don't know where you would be driving from, but I suspect they are at all U. of MD related schools like Salisbury as well. I haven't been to McKeldin in a few years but they had a lot of readers and copiers for general use when I was there. -----Original Message----- From: mdallega-request@rootsweb.com [mailto:mdallega-request@rootsweb.com] Sent: Wednesday, September 01, 2010 3:00 AM To: mdallega@rootsweb.com Subject: MDALLEGA Digest, Vol 5, Issue 171 Today's Topics: 1. 1883 List of pensioners on the roll ... - Google Books (Ruth Sprowls) 2.
