The Examiner, Frederick - Wednesday, August 12, 1857 LOCAL PUBLIC SALES - Attention is called to the advertisements of the following Public Sales, to come off during the ensuing week - Monday, 17th - at 2 pm at his residence, near Browns' Factory, 3 miles east of Buckeystown, Robert C. FLEMING, esq, will sell his farm stock and household furniture. Wednesday, 19th - at 9 am at his residense, near Walkersville, Ezra E. BARRICk, esq, will sell his farm stock and utensils. Same day at 3 pm - near Reisterstown, Md, Samuel WILDESEN, esq, will sell his farm, containing 370 acres of land, together with his interest in the Copper and Cobalt mines thereon. Fire in Emmitsburg - On last Thursday evening, the stables of Messrs. Jacob HORNER and John ZIMMERMAN, at Emmittsburg, were entirely destroyed by fire, together with a considerable quantity of grain and hay. It is believed to be the work of an incendiary, as just previous to the conflagration, a person, not recognised, was seen to leave the premises. No insurance. We have no further particulars. Death of a Prominent Citizen - William LYNCH, esq, died at his residence, near Jefferson, in this count, on Sunday, 9th, of Dropsy, in the 70th year of his age. Mr. Lynch has represented this county in the State Legislature several times, and occupied other important local trusts. He was much esteemed and deservedly popular; and was the father of the present Prosecuting Attorney of this county, and of the Editor of the Washingtonian, published at Leesburg, Virginia. DEATHS - Died on Thursday the 6th, Charles Markell, infant s/o John W. and Mary R. BIRELY, aged 4 months and 26 days. - In Reading, Pa, on the 26th, Rev. John N. HOFFMAN, of the Lutheran Church, aged 54 years. Mr. H. was a student of Divinity, under the late Rev. D. F.
