Clark was born at Wrightsonville, Kent County, Del., May 26, 1866, and attended the public schools until he was 13 years old. At the age of 14 he entered the general store of E.B. Downs, at Downs Chapel, Del., as clerk, and clerked in general stores in Kenton, Smyrna and Dover until he was 21, when he entered the service of the P.W.&B. railroad as assistant agent at Kenton. He has been with this company ever since. He remained at Kenton two years and then was transferred to the superintendent's office at Clayton as operator, where he remained a year. At the end of that time he was appointed agent at Henderson. He was one year there and was transferred to Queen Anne, where he spent another year. He then came to Easton as agent, succeeding C>W> Diggans. This was in April 1892. Mr. Clark is a married man. He is a leading member of Ebenezer M>E> Church. In politics he is a prohibitionist, and is chairman of the county executive committee of his party. He was formerly a democrat.
